01 March Mărțișor:

Mărțișor is a celebration at the beginning of spring, on March the 1st in Romania.

The word Mărțișor is the diminutive of Marț, the old folk name for March (Martie, in modern Romanian), and are all names for the red and white string with hanging tassel customarily given on the 1st day of March.

In, the olden times this talisman was given to people as an old custom, and it is believed that the wearer will be strong and healthy for the year to come.

In modern times, and especially in urban areas, became more a symbol of friendship, love, appreciation and respect.

1st of March is a very important day, not only for the celebration of Mărțișor but most important it’s my dog Google’s 10th years birthday! 😀

Coming up 7th of March is a very important day also, it’s mother’s day, but not any mother, it is my mothers birthday 😀

8 March International Women’s Day in Romania and also Mother’s day

Women’s Day is celebrated both within Romania and in many other countries. The first International Women’s Day occurred on March 19 in 1911. The inaugural event, which included rallies and organized meetings, was a big success in some countries in Europe.
Women’s Day is an observance and not a public holiday in Romania.
Many women are given cards, flowers, and other gifts on Women’s Day in Romania. Women’s Day social events, including parties, dinners, and concerts, are held on March 8. Some Romanians similarly celebrate the day as Mother’s Day.
